Root Excavation

When a tree is removed a small stump is left that is above ground level. You may decide to leave this as it is, or you may want it removed. What is root excavation?
Root excavation is the process of removing all tree roots from underground. We move the soil and then can get to all the roots using specialist machinery. This completely removes any trace of the tree. Depending on the size of the tree and the roots left behind, will mean that the size of the job varies. For a larger tree, we will use a larger piece of machinery to ensure we can do a complete job. For smaller root systems we need to move less soil so can use smaller equipment in a quicker job.

Why would I need this?
A root excavation is useful if the roots of your tree have been causing damage or are on their way to damaging your property. Roots are extremely strong beings and have been known to rip through tarmac, concrete, and wood. A full root excavation will ensure that no damage takes place, and your property is kept safe and sound. You may also choose to have this procedure done if the root system is impeding the growth of other plants. It may be that space beneath the soil is taken up by these old roots and other plant life is struggling for space. A full root removal will eliminate this problem and allow other plant life to flourish.

Equipment

We work with attention to detail to avoid damage to other areas of your land as much as possible, although there will be some disruption as we have to move soil around. Once our work is done, and all the roots are removed, we move the soil back and create a leveled and smooth surface ready for you to replant as you wish.
